ARCANE INTERMEZZO: l'apres midi d'un faune

 

Arcane Intermezzo presents a multiple reinterpretation of Vaslav Nijinsky’s original choreography of 1912. A dance inspired by a poem by Stéphane Mallarmé, it explores a bucolic landscape of anticipation. An unstable state of reverie and representation.

 

“I am going to see the shadow that you became.” 

 

​Working from a detailed notation of the ballet by Anne Hutchinson Guest (but outside of the originals structure of time and space) the dancers follow their instructions to present an ever-changing system of possibilities.

Choreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky with Caterina Cescotti, Anna Dalla Costa, Flavio D'Antoni, Ottavia Denti, Nina Nikić, Francesca Mariapia Petroni, Noemi Poppi, Giuditta Re, Nina Rovera, Nicolò Francesco Russo, Delfina Stella, Selene Tognoli, Ornella Trespidi and Davide Uccellari.
